FAQ: Will the Waves works with the H20 Audio iPod Case

SORRY! H2O Audio designed their cases so that only their proprietary headphones will work.  They don't have standard connection jack - and actually require a cover to be in place so the jack is waterproof.  The Aquapac and Otter Box cases are 100% Waterproof with our headphones - with no additional cover around the connection.

FAQ: How deep can I swim with the Waves Waterproof Headphones ?

SAFETY FIRST! The Waves should be used for surface swimming, and other water sports and activities - 10 feet is the MAXIMUM depth - due to pressure under the water.

FAQ: Will these headphones work for swimming laps?

ABSOLUTELY ! They are perfect for swimming laps - and you don't have any constraining head bracket - just a lightweight comfortable fit.

WAVES Waterproof Headphones Tips from Nikki Tunes

WAVE waterproof headphones are completely waterproof with or without the removable earbud covers. The earbud covers are provided to give a more comfortable fit, and keep the water out of your ears if you are using them for swimming.

A word of caution: The ear bud covers are soft to make wearing them as comfortable as possible - use caution not to tear the covers when placing them on the earbuds.

The waterproof headphones fit lots of ears but there will be some for which the earphones will be too small and some for which the earphones will be too large. Once water gets into the earphone or ear canal, volume is greatly diminished since sound waves do not travel very well through water. If the earphone is too large for the ear canal, forcing it in may also cause the earplug to collapse, which will also impede the flow of sounds waves.

HOW TO INSERT THE HEADPHONES

The earphones were designed to be worn at a downward angle into the ear, not as a straight in ear piece.

Putting them straight into the ear resembles “antlers" and the earphones don’t really have a way to rest securely in the ear.

We have come across a few solutions which you may want to try, the key is experimentation, to create a custom fit:

THE EARPHONES ARE TOO SMALL

Physician’s Ear around the ridges of the earphone will help create a waterproof seal if the earphone is too small for the ear canal. This is available at swim shops and it is a soft pliable silicone which can be rolled into a thin spaghetti like strands and wrapped around the earphone.

THE EARPHONES ARE TOO LARGE

Trim the last ridge off the earphone if it too large. Trim a little at a time, the key is experimentation to get the right fit.

THE EARPHONES WON’T STAY IN YOUR EARS

If your swim cap is too small to cover your ears, try a neoprene headband, we have them for sale on our website for $13.95 at www.waterproofcases.net.

HELPFUL HINT: Always rinse your headphones and waterproof cases with clear water. Then leave them in the open air to dry. Your gear will last longer with a little loving care.
